I can get hold of a large list of Lithium related material. As I have said previously in other related posts, My dad was MD for a fair few large lithium companies across the world. Ill see what I can do 🙂

Hi Simon,
In spite of the sceptical response to your suggestion, there has been several trials for Lepidiolite in the East side of the Irish Republic.
In fact if my memory serves me correctly, and at my time of life you can never be sure, this deposit was quoted as being the largest in Europe.
A few mining companies have been and presumably are still interested in mining the ore, but how the economics stack up, of working a silicate mineral against the salt deposits, I cannot say.

But against the background of huge salar desposits and they way they lend themselves to separation (of a saturated solution) Li Micas are a bit of a joke, are they not.

It's almost like tar sands.

'salar deposits' starting to sound like a geologist Stu!
Dont write Li mica off, all depends on the size and accessibility, Imerys has large amounts of it that they 'put to one side' for future processing (although to be sure you wont get figures for that, they'll be keeping it under wraps) going on their clay production figures from Cornwall alone it wouldnt take long for a considerable amount to accumulate, and they knew about this stuff in the 70's...
