Have followed this thread with interest and some odd tales have emerged but I can't help noticing that Cavegod who posed the question about Smallcleugh has remained eerily silent but must have had a reason for asking in the first place ? 😞

The one from that website about the glowing green man with the sword puzzled me a bit 😞

People are always going to make up excuses as to why strange things like this happen, but somehow natural gas combustion or some bizzare chemical reaction can't result in strange lights dancing around the mine.

Only place i wont go on me own is Ridge Quarry in Wilts. Can't say why but soon as i get to the bottom of the slope i have bad feeling and have to get out.

Everyone says that about Ridge, but I myself have not experienced anything weird there or anywhere for that matter.

I was in Small Cleugh a few weeks ago and got a bit spooked walking past it on the way in, but I have a fear of deep shafts when I'm not tied on, and someone saying as we went in, that's where that guy died didn't help matters.
I sometimes go in west mine at Alderley Edge with the DCC and there is a place we call chain shaft, its only about 60ft but I always feel spooked when I'm around this place. In the early nineteen hundreds two young lads got lost in the mines and it was at the top of this shaft in a side tunnel where they found the bodies about four months later, how they even got up there no one knows?
I also lost my glove in another part of the mine and about a month later I was still wondering about them and on the way out I shouted "and I've still not found my gloves" at that point the guy next to me said "is this them?" and there they were next to a tub.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
