When I was involved with the Astley Green winding engine preservation, I collected a lot of information regarding colliery engineering and technology, primarily with the intention of making suitable displays for the engine house. Although no longer involved there, it struck me that the information and illustrations I have may be of interest to site members. The bulk relates to surface plant etc., but there are some things relating to underground. It's all historical now, of course!

How do members feel about me posting these illustrations here in a suitable gallery ?

I guess the problem there is they are images and not PDF docs, otherwise as Carnkie says Personal Files under Tecnhical would be a good place for them.

Graham, I could create an album under the most relevant mine (if there is one, as they are not mine specific) and the images could go there. If it had a descriptive enough name it would show up in image searches.

Later they could be moved when I've finished the Surface Features module.

Yes, where they form a full document, I'll put them in Technical docs, its the wide variety of illustrations from a lot of sources and locations that causes the problem.

For instance "Powered Supports" an NCB Industrial Training document can go in tech docs, but a variety of winding engines, electrical and steam would be scattered and many havn't a location to put them in. I don't mind putting them under one of the Lancashire pits, for the time being, but a surface features area would be handy.

Yes, I'm aware of that - but then you can't see them - all you get is the title and you'd have to open them to see if they were interesting or not.... - which is why I was suggesting a gallery, which is effectively a preview.
