I've decided to sell my Canon Powershot D10 waterproof camera.

12 mega pixel. Takes a good photo underground / underwater.

http://www.dpreview.com/products/canon/compacts/canon_d10

Open to sensible offers

it's 18 months old (bought March 2011) and has taken about 190 photographs.

Cosmetic condition is good but it's not perfect or new and has been taken underground and been used snorkelling. So it has got some light scuffs and scratches to the body of the camera.

Camera + battery + charger + sealed manual pack

Click on the following photos to view bigger ones - I've tried to show the scuffs and scratches as best I can but they are hard to see in the photos.

I can vouch for their durability underground, i've had mine completely caked in mud regularly and accidentally put it through a full cycle in a washing machine and its still working just fine.

Aye, I like it very much. I only want to sell it so I can get one of the Panasonics since they're slimmer and fit into a pocket more easily.

Simon, I probably wouldn't be able to get something like this for a while but out of curiosity could you link some of the underground pics you took with it?

cheers

I don't think I've uploaded any myself taken off it underground - I used it underground just once - mostly on holiday and underwater.

But I don't think Chris will mind me linking to two of his photos taken with the same model of camera:

Both are on the 2012 calendar

Very true, it can be a bit bulky in the pocket.
But as thats due to no retractable lens it eliminates the major weak point of every other camera i've broken underground.

Pretty much everything i've uploaded in the last two years is taken with one if people want an idea of the results that can be achieved (and probably considerably better if you take more time over your photos than I do)

As with most cameras you need to have a fiddle with the settings and learn how to lock the focus to infinity etc etc.

If you're so inclined to really fiddle with settings it will also work with the CHDK (Canon Hack Development Kit) although i've never used it much.

It's still a current model, typically retailing between £190 and £220.

So its worth more than that now, especially after its been carefully run in, tried and tested in the underground enviroment by a professional photographer and all round good egg. Its even famous as its been on the internet - a couple of hundred quid sounds like a bargain to me. I would, but I have that nice little Panasonic remember.

Why dont you post a video of it going round and round in the washing machine like Chris's, surely that can only add to the value as well.

Good thinking :)

I guess its worth £95 to £100 - or about half what they're going for now?

Somebody is flogging new unboxed ones on eBay for £130 to £150 but without charger for comparison.

From the photos it appears that the outer lense cover is unmarked, if that is the case id easily give you £100 for it if you get no other offers Simon.

It is surprisingly well designed, even though mine is completely scratched to pieces (see photo) the recessed lens cover is still totally spotless.

In theory you should be a able to replace it anyway if it were scratched, but I bet the spare would cost as much as a new camera.
