Hi Gang
I have just uploaded some shots I took Saturday in Hendre Spa Mine.
They were all taken working solo using my MagnumStar caplamp, plus a 3 X P7 flood, and a couple of Tesco torches. The one with the ladders was part of a series that I did without getting off the ladders, this was by means of the radio control unit I build which is operating the camera shutter.
Its the white box in the forground.

I think I am getting somewhere with this, what does everyone else think?

Great set of photos, this one in particular is an absolute cracker:

I would not have thought anything special about that shot, but with the P7 floods matching the rather overcast daylight, I suppose I got an even exposure.

Thanks for your kind remarks.

I see it! 😃

Nice work, Roy - it's quite an achievement to get yourself in such well-lit photographs, especially given you were nowhere near the camera!
Hello again darkness, my old friend...

I had a look at the pics you uploaded of the mine, and as soon as I saw them (even before seeing this thread), I thought that you were up to RC tricks again! They do look very good Roy.

The comments are reinforcing my view that I am onto something that could take underground photography forward.
If I could only come up with a way of making the RC units at a cheap price for people.

Still photo lamps first, RC units second.

For what its worth, I really enjoyed taking these, a great bit of fun.

Many thanks Mr MountainPenguin

And whats more they are on dealextreme for $29.95 US which is £18.70 plus PayPal commission.

Part No SKU 28507

It certainly beats my heafty device which I built 18 months ago before these were out.
Problem is that my camera is a Fujifilm S9500 which is not listed.
The issue is whether or not it operates the camera by an electronic interface or mechanical shutter release. If the latter I can do anything I want with it.
I suspect electronic though because shutter cables are all standard and they would not list different models.

A real shame.

yes unfortunatly they do need a "proper" camera 😉
Given your love of tinkering you would probably be better served by either a funky slr or one of the cannon that is suported by cdhk!
