This has been a point of discussion before.
I use a very old Petzl Basic left handed handleless jammer. I then have a loop which goes on my left foot and RH foot ascender. The logic being that my cord to my hand ascender is the furtherest thing on the left. Thus nothing has to cross the rope or interfere with it.
I note most people using a RH handled ascender and to me it's all wrong. You're right handed, so you hold the ascender with your right hand!!! This means that if you want to fiddle with the catch, you need to be very good at fiddling with your left hand. In my opinion, a "right handed ascender" is for someone who is left handed. It's the same with the foot ascender. My chum accidentally bought a LH foot ascender and struggled with it a tad due to everything being on the same side. He's now bought a handled ascender (RH) and we'll see how he gets on. I imagine it will be as natural and enjoyable as trying to do "something else" with the wrong hand.
To me being right handed, a left hand ascender, rigged on the left of the harness with a left footloop and complemented with a RH foot ascender is the way to go. To boot, when you use a "knee ascender" with a basic, it's also left handed, and keeps the catch on the right, so you can fiddle with it with your right hand, etc, etc, etc.
I suppose you get used to what you've chosen and then justify it to everyone! S
