There appears to be some confusion in the data-base.
Iwami Ginzan is a silver mine but the pictures attribute/describe as silica.
The UNESCO citation and criteria are very interesting.

Suspect it was orignally added as a Silica (silica is next to silver in the drop down menu) mine and then changed to Silver. But the photos were uploaded before the change, so they have the incorrect silica description as part of the reference.

There's no way to fix that I'm afraid; the mine refkey value (that forms part of the web address) doesn't change when the mine name or details are updated.

But any subsquent image uploads for this mine will have the correct silver description as part of their reference.

Sorry about that Gwyn. Simon is quite correct. I had a finger twitch and hit Silica by mistake.
The past is a foreign country: they do things differently there.

Nothing to worry about Carnkie, and if any more photos of that mine are uploaded then they'll have the correct silver reference in them.
