I've been ploughing through a long document issued by the US bureau of Mines in 1918 on the mining and milling of zinc and lead ores in the Missouri-Kansas-Oklahoma zinc district. Better known as the Joplin district.
Apart from the obvious there are a number of quite interesting archive photos that I was going to upload to the relevant mines. Unfortunately specific mines aren't mentioned so I was in a bit of a quandry. I've decided to put them in a thread but if this is thought innapropriate, or of no great interest, I can easily delete.

The past is a foreign country: they do things differently there.
