Just obtained a reprint of the 1913 commission report on the Minas de Riotinto - it's in Spanish so it's slow going but thought I'd share this nugget: between 1908 & 1912 there were 13,104 accidents of which 121 were fatal - averaging 24 deaths per year.
I'll add more stuff as my Spanish improves.
