Just a quit message to ask if any one has any info of spanish mines in the Malaga area. as I will be over that way for a couple of weeks and I might need a distraction for a day or two. I am also going over to Gibraltar for a day or two. I have been to Gib once before but it was a spur of the moment thing and I had very little info so spent most of the time finding sealed up entrances. :curse: so any info would great. I have been looking on the web and have found a couple but is quite a drive fro where I wil be staying at. Thanks

Linares is the place from Malaga that should keep you occupied for about a week

Thanks for all the info and links its been most helpfull 🙂. Now that I am out here I have a load of things needing doing to SWMBO's mums house and sorting out a lot of paper work. There is more than I thought I have only got the laptop working kindoff as the pc (Dell dimension 5000) has a bust power pack I think, the phone aint working the pool has burst a pipe the waterering system that I installed needs digging up and re installing as after the winter rains is all burried and pulled some pipes out. the list goes on 😢 but I might come back over for a few weeks later on in the year when its cooler got to paint the outside of the house. So I might get underground then

I'll be in the Antequera area in February if anyone knows of anything worth looking at nearby?

I've heard there was some iron mining in the vicinity but have yet to come across any remains, I believe there was also some lead mining in the Sierra Almijara and once hiked for several hours to what turned out to be a very minor scraping ::)

The hills to the north of Mojacar are covered in shafts and a few levels too.

There quite a few mines around Bedar too but little is accessible.

Not really mining but fascinating bit of IA at El Chorro. It's about 30 miles north of Malaga and you can have a crack at the Camino del Rey. I did it two years ago in February and it's terrifyingly high. Take a harness and some cows tails.

That does indeed look like great fun :thumbup:

However I will be with Mrs T, neither taking her along nor leaving her behind for the day would end well I fear 😞

I may get away with some rambles that happen to lead us past some mining remains, with perhaps an entrance to poke my head in....

There does seem to be some stuff in the Barranco de Cazadores, Sierra de Almijara.
