Straight talking from the Colonel there

Wouldn't mind a look to be honest, a crew from DP went there recently, and got arrested (and then let off).
my orders are to sit here and watch the world go by

Supposibly it was originally some kind of Limestone Quarry but was later used for other things (various).
Why did they get arrested? 😮

Yep I agree, on the exeption of Mallorca - as its caves give me a break from the sodden, muddy British ones. Not to say that British caves arent nice and interesting places 😉

HAdn't thought about it Colonel as its such a long walk, but of you really want I'm sure we could come up with something

Catacombes are pretty good, did a 24 hour trip down there last year and there is lots to see. The piles of bones are wuite impressive and you have to watch for kicking skulls around in some places 😉
Entry is illegal and periodically the Paris Plod do a sweep and evict anybody in there, they can impose an on the spot fine too.
You will meet lots of French Cataphiles down there bt they are all really friendly and make a big effort to make you welcome, lots of pics over on DP from a couple of trips, the maps are huge and I have a PDF of one somewhere I will try and dig out.
A serious visit means sleeping down there but there are plenty of dry places to do so, try to avoid doing a run past of everything and accept you won't get to see it all and you will have fun, Navigation is made easier by all the passages corresponding to the streets above and having street signs underground to match
