I picked a copy of this book today
Not a Plack the Richer: Argyll's Mining Story
by Birlinn Ltd
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1780275048?ie=UTF8&tag=g8eprpyemuseu-21&camp=1634&linkCode=xm2&creativeASIN=1780275048
The author has written lots of books about Argyll so it is not a technical mining book but seems to be quite a bit on the mines around Inveraray, Lochgilphead, Kilmartin with some photographs looking into Kilmartin and Craignure and plans and maps of some mines.

Hi Martin,
Thanks for flagging this book up.
I have just received a copy.
It is quite interesting and in part seems to home in on the Silica Mine at Lochaline.
