Has anyone surveyed the workings of Brownley Hill Low Level, particularly the workings of the various Brownley Hill veins? I notice that the WCMRG recorded a lot of info on extracts from the VMZ Co surveys, and there are mentions of people surveying.

Hi Peter, as far as I am aware, West Cumberland mines Research Group, did not actually do any surveying!
Mostly they used the V.M. Map and made it up from there!
Naturally they achieved a lot particularly the workings on Jug and the Acessibilty of the High Cross veins!

I am also searching for mine company plans. We know about the three VMZ plans (1896, Ore reserves and abandonment), and there is KC Dunham's section of the main vein. Also have a plan that covers Haggs to Brownley Hill and a Greenwich Hospital estate plan.

Hi Peter, I was wondering if you had included Guddamgill mine in your Brownley Hill Mine plan trawl?
As this mine was accessed in part through Broomsberry H.L. some plans naturally are included with the Brownley levels on them.
I have several that would fit into this category if you want me to let you know what I have.
