Hi all,
My name is Jerry Lyden I am looking for an old Army pal from the early 60s His name is Malcolm Charles Timothy. I am in touch with a few of the boy's from our old 3 Coy RASC in Malaya, and we are hoping for a reunion later this year
When he left the Army he worked at a mine as a Driver.
I last saw him in the Nantgarw area about 20 years ago, and he was self employed in catering.
Any help would be appreciated

Jerry - This may be a "long shot" - I was wondering if your mate ever claimed his "Pingat Jasa Malaysia - Malaysian Service Medale". i.e the medal that was awarded in 2006 - which could be received but was intially forbidden to wear.

Hi Jerry,

I think the RASC became the RLC, along with RCT, RACC, RAOC etc... Try the RLC Association, they have membership lists etc, and even have a section at the rear to do with reunions. I think their Magazine is called "The Sustainer".

I was a sapper, but Im sure the corps would hold resources to help you find your mate.

Hi Jerry,
A Director Search turned up nothing for Malcolm, and he doesnt appear to be in the Phone Directory.

It may be a long shot, but I have a person with the same name born 1941 in Cardiff (Does this sound right?)

Then someone with the same name marries a Miss Dolores M Bonetto in mid 1964 in East Glamorgan.

The good news is there doesnt appear to have been a death recorded under his name, which is always a fear when searching for someone.

Hi thanks for the info It turned out that the info you gave me was his cousin. He gave me Malcolm's Number and I have spoken to Malcolm so It was a good thing you had nothing to do once again thank you, pity I can't buy you a drink, next time I have one I'll toast you
