Just got back from Cow Green, pleasant run up there on the eponymous Legend; the concrete bases in Colin567's photo (below) are a) still visible and b) definitely in the vicinity of Wrentnall Shaft. The water level was no lower today, I'll have a look back in a couple of weeks.

The reason for the query? is that on OS maps online, the grid reference in Dunham is more in line with the mine road, which can be seen in the background of the photo.
On the other hand, the concrete looks as though it could well be around a shaft top, a dry autumn may help.

It was interesting to note yesterday that the small hillock on the 1550' contour to the East of 'Isle of Man' was just exposed in the middle of the lake, in contrast to my previous visit.

So, tracking the 1550' contour on shore, Colin's Concrete Construction appears to be at the most northeasterly part of the mine site.

Both the metalled road (N-S) and the gravel track (E-W) were still partially submerged at their SW ends, where they intersect is where all the goodies are. Looking at the contours I reckon another 5ft drop in water level would reveal answers.

Also interesting to note that the lake bottom is entirely above 1525' OD, so we're only talking about 25' of water depth remaining.

gives me a good excuse to fire up the bike, anyway
