Thursday evening this week....back to Pandora with a plan to check out some of the lesser visited areas.
No SRT this time unless you really want to.
Plan is to go in through the Pontifex Adit and check out the workings on lake level; plenty to see and new ground too for some of us :thumbup:

Going right at the main junction leads to a massive chamber that has somehow been filled with rubble (either from above or carried in on tracks I presume?) Appeared to be some asbestos waste also so take care.

One area I need to check out is beyond the crawl near where the old car is, it seems to lead to a fairly large area of the mine with a rope in situ to descend somewhere.

Would love to join you but work commitments mean a no go most Thursdays :thumbdown:

That big chamber used to be called "Dead Sheep Chamber" a few years ago and the stink was unbelievable for a year or two. All clear now. Asbestos, yes probably but damp enough not to be a problem.

The crawl beyond the car does go; I'll see if I can find a photo. If not I'll take one on Thursday. Brrrrr!! :o

Great trip guys thanks. At least one of us got into New Ground….even if it did involve a submerged dive through a sump. What a total hero! Well done iain6661 :thumbup:

We will go back with some rope and BA’s and have a good explore of that I reckon it goes on for a fair bit
