I know how to use a drill.
But mine is smaller than his.

Only problem is when it binds on a big hole it tends to throw me across the chamber. My two shoulders are wrecked (can't lateral-raise more than about 5kg) and I'm sure it's all the drill-bindings. It's so painful when it binds, feels like my arm is being torn from my body

Sounds like that should not happen?

"Off the back of this is Anti-Rotation, which cuts the power to the chuck should the bit snag while you’re drilling. A red LED light flashes to let you know what’s going on, just ease off the trigger and you’re able to start up again."

It still does about a quarter rotation when that kicks in, enough to hurt a bit if you are not well braced. Still better than the old no-clutch Bosch arm breaker we used to use.

We had a Bosch, (700 odd watt) mains drill, the only way of avoiding pain was to turn the electronic torque thing down to a level where the reaction torque could be held. A real pain in reinforced concrete!

Yep, the drill is handy too

Yes there is a clutch but it's already caused quite a bit of pain before it kicks in.

As PK says the 240v 2000w Bosch one we had before it was the worst for tearing tendons. it did not have a clutch, and once that was up to full speed spinning a huge bit, if it jammed it would certainly have me on my rear.

Worst injury I ever got was from the dust, drilling a huge hole in the level roof just above my head, with several KG of fine dust pouring over my unprotected face. I closed my eyes but the dust gave me pleurisy. Could hardly breath for six months. better now though...

Yeah, that's DEFINITELY a picture of a drill being used ;)

Horrible. I had that several years ago, funnily enough whilst doing a protracted dig.
It only lasted about a month thankfully. Like being stabbed under the ribs every time you breath in.
Take care, I hear there's silica in the the slate round there.
Silicosis is even less fun than pleurisy!
