I'm hoping to make it! Up for a bit of SRT. If there's any chance of passing the odd re-belay, that would be good practise for me. Failing that, if I could try some rigging, under someone else's watchful eye, that would be great too. Understand time for this may be limited.
Climbing gym is another good place to practise harder SRT techniques and a safer options for rebelay / deviation / knot passing until you are proficient to do so underground.
Come to think of it though I've explored a lot of mines in North Wales now and have never had to pass a re-belay underground :lol:
There is a good little pitch in Penarth slate mine where a traverse line to pitch head, Y hang and then short abseil with rebelay or deviation can be rigged. But it's a long slog up to Penarth for a bit of SRT.
Long time since I've been in Cwmorthin but it was mainly pull through abs and zip lines last time I was there :thumbsup:
