I keep meaning to get up to the lakes for some exploring, its quite a trek from me though. What are the mines like up in the lakes? Are they crawly, wet or big open spaces like most of the mines ive visited in wales? Here in the peaks its quite crawly and wet can sometimes get a bit physical aha whereas in wales i find the most physical part being the walk to the actual mine!

The Force Crag mine appears to have a good trek involved, not fun if the weather is bad

I take you have seen the survey for the mine:

Would be interesting to know your route via that if not too much trouble?

Please note that No 3 Level has been run in with scree since the big storm last year and the tight squeeze at the end of the High Force Cross-cut has been closed for the last few years, so the through trip is no more.

That's a shame. Really enjoyed that through trip.
my orders are to sit here and watch the world go by

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
