As with Mr Curry I can do Swaledale stuff at the drop of a hat if theres interest.

We had several Aditnow weekends away in the distant past, all gloriously documented !

Following on from that, we've had a few kind volunteers to help with trips, any other offers of help gratefully received. We don't have to have a guide for all trips, most of us have tried exploring new places on our own, but it's always good to have someone who knows where the best places are to see- and what the access arrangements are!!

Please can you let me know if I've volunteered you in error, or if you'd like to help out! :flowers:

Cwmystwyth/Frongoch - Roy?
Ratgoed/ Nantymwyn/Corris -?

Alderley Edge - ?
Nenthead - Mr Curry/ Christwigg
Williamson tunnels - Blobber
Parrys/Mona - Boggieman?
CRTT - ?
Milwr - Rockchick
Coniston -?
Sir Francis level - ?

Litter-picking day in Cwmorthin - Sinker

The second photograph in this most excellent report is a candidate for a future calendar, surely?

Something I've suggested in the past, which has generally been met with a resounding silence...

Could we consider an 'incandescent' trip sometime, possibly a CRTT?

Where 'incandescent' = no LEDs allowed, only incandescent bulbs, ie dig out your old Maglites and other such relics to relive a past when the darkness was hardly disturbed by dim yellow beams, beyond which all sorts of horrors lurked*.

* not indulging the creature referenced in the post above ;)

I think Chris and myself volunteers from anything Swaledale, such as Brandy Bottle thru trip or Sir Francis.

But i'll happily do Nenthead as well.

We've did an incandescent Cwm trip a few years ago - Oldhams and Petzl Glooms... It was great. And we did a Cwm candlelight / lamp light trip as well which was also great :)

But an incandescent / olde school CRTT sounds good to me 🙂

I liked the Cwmorthin incandescent trip. I still have a Peztl Gloom somewhere.... I do have a question though, if anyone remembers. What was the route taken. I've tried to replicate it a couple of times since, but everything looks *very* different with LED's. I remember a manway leading to somewhere near the top of the OVI (I think), and a manway going up with a handline in it.

That sounds like the manway on the right (inbye) of the OVI head down to OV Fl A. ie. to avoid going near the dodgy OVI head to get down to Fl A.

The one up could be off the passage behind the QM caban on BV (Oakeley) Fl G that goes up to Fl DE near the flooded BV connection passage to the base of the OVI.

I can't entirely remember but I have a hazy recollection of heading down the OVI and along D floor under the floating bridges - the man way near the top of the OVI could have been the one where you bypass part of th incline itself?

The Lake Level down to Fl. A OVI head bypass is the one I'm thinking...

Aye, I've just had a look at the photos in the Cwmorthin album (and how was it 6 years ago?) and there are a couple of photos from the day that are clearly D floor OV, and also a photo of the QM caban, as well as from the back vein. So it looks like wandered all over!
