Quick Update:

Been a tad busy, on earlies this week so i can call/email. Ive dropped Carreg Bran, in Llanfair PG an email. See what they offer.

Any news on Gladstones in Penmaenmawr?

We shall settle on the 17th as the date
SO MARK IT IN YOUR DIARIES!

As per usual partners welcome. i will look for figures by possibly beginning November once we have all decided on venue. If we get stuck then the Royal Oak it shall be once again (not that im knocking it but would be nice else where)

So any suggestions keep them comming!

Here is the Carreg Bran menu!

http://www.aditnow.co.uk/documents/Personal-Album-12820/carreg.pdf

Heres the letter that accompanied the menu
Quote:

Thank you for your interest in booking a Christmas Party here at Carreg Bran Hotel. I
enclose for you a copy of the Christmas Party Menu for 2015.
Should you wish to confirm a booking, we would require a non-refundable deposit of
£10.00 per person by 30th September 2015. Bookings will only be confirmed on
receipt of deposit. Due to high demand, should your numbers decrease unfortunately
deposits will be retained and are non-transferable.
Due to high demand, we do not offer sole occupancy for Friday & Saturday evenings,
all Friday & Saturday evenings throughout the month of December will be mixed
party nights. Should you require sole occupancy, please contact the Hotel directly to
discuss options on other evenings.
If we do not receive a deposit by the 30th September, we would presume that you have
decided to cancel your booking, allowing the date to be released for other parties.
On confirmation of your booking we would require the named pre-order by no later
than one week prior to the date of your party, along with full payment of the
outstanding invoice. Please find enclosed a pre-order form.
Should any of your party have any dietary requirements, please feel free to contact the
hotel and we will be happy to discuss options for them.
On the night of the party we ask that all your guests arrive for 7:00pm, and that you
are seated ready to dine at 7:30pm prompt. Late arrivals will result in missing courses
as it is unfair on the other parties attending should their evening be delayed.
Should you be organising a booking for 10 or more people, we would like to reward
your efforts as the organiser by giving you a 20% discount voucher, to be used when
dining at the Hotel during the month of January. This will be given upon full
settlement of the bill.
Should you have any enquiries regarding the Christmas Menu or any other matter,
please do not hesitate to contact us here at the Gwesty Carreg Bran Hotel.
We look forward to celebrating your Christmas Party with you.

I'd be happy with either of the Celtic Royal and Carreg Bran menus, but have a very slight preference for the Carreg Bran one.

Other considerations:
1 In which venue are we most likely to get a room to ourselves?
2 Does either venue have an evening bar menu which would satisfy Blober's discerning palate? 😉

That letter from Carreg Bran doesn't fill me with enthusiasm. Or do other places have similar demands?

Royal Oak were really easy to deal with, and the chef personally rang at least two of our guests to discuss their dietary requirements.

Ha! And no! Before you say anything, it WASN'T to ask Blober what type of sausages he wanted!!

In that case, my vote is for Celtic Royal or the good old Royal Oak.

Can't have it "bloody", it needs to be "well done" in order to properly cook the spinal cord, lips and eye lids.

Hmm, that letter from Carreg Bran sounds a bit fierce. If Celtic Royal can't offer us a private room, then my vote would be to go back to the Royal Oak at ByC - really enjoyed last year's bash there.

Down to a month and twenty days till the 17th...

Came across a Christmas menu at the Caban. No more details than that or whether the 17th is available. Doesn't have a bar per say 😮

Thought the inclusion may be useful as a nudge if nothing else

Menu's on the latest doc list

Sorry guys rather hectic with work this week also some house viewings!
From what i am reading here im guessing we are narrowing it down to 3 places

1- Celtic Royal, Caernarfon
2- Carreg Bran, Llanfair P.G
3- Royal Oak, Betws-Y-Coed

Considering no one has any objections to the 17th December we will stick with that date.
