17th is best for me! And 10 the worst. And as an islander I shall shamelessly plug The Liverpool Arms, the Anglesey Arms, the Bridge Inn, the Antelope Inn, Boatyard Inn. Or the four crosses! Blimey that would be convenient. 😮

Nice one Jay, thanks for organising again!
I'm easy on the dates. As for venue, anywhere except Menai Bridge gets my vote.

We could also consider Tyn-y-Coed, or the Vaynol Arms in Pentir.
And well that Conwy place would be alright with me too. Not the snuggest place in the world but if it's too snug we might not fit in!

The menu looks OK to me but not the Selfie Photobooth or DJ & Dancing. I'd rather go to somewhere quieter.

And I refuse to contribute towards the salary of someone called "Brittany Loughborough"

Any I personally don't think that Pingu can be trusted ANYWHERE NEAR a Selfie Photobooth. 😮

I'm unbiased, as everyone knows that I will go ANYWHERE for a night out. Not fussy.

However, Four Crosses has always been good value, nice food and nice atmosphere. And "Broadside" on draught....

Antelope no thanks

To be honest, the whole atmosphere / ambience in Betws y Coed would be hard to beat...

Difficult on Anglesey - the only places to give similar ambience would be something like the Tresgawen or the White Eagle at Rhoscolyn - but expensive..?

Lastra Farm at Amlwch wouldn't be too bad if you really want Anglesey.

I'll go with the flow for now until something more definite appears but definitely want to come (plus Mrs B - especially if we end up back in ByC!)

As a very occasional Thursday nighter I appreciate that my vote doesn't count for much, but my preference is for somewhere in the Conwy valley.

Why do menus always have to mangle language - what in the name of almighty god is a "pressing" of ham hock?

The one that really winds me up is "a trio of......."

Anyway sorry for hijacking the thread :flowers::flowers:

No worries. Feel free to join us if you like? Jay beat me to it and posted it up first but the Christmas bash is open to anyone who wants to come along, not just the AN Thursday Night crew

I appreciate that it is a bit far for you personally but its an open invitation to anyone :flowers: :flowers:

Any where suits me so long as it doesn't have a disco, stupid party games and a selfie booth. I'm quite content to eat and entertain my self with the aid of my "Go-Pro" and the local barmaid:tongue::tongue:

Anyone know what the Gladstone at Penmaenmawr is like? Always looks nice and seems to always be busy which is a good sign... Might be worth looking at. Easy access from A55.

It does look nice. Worth considering?

As it happened, I was passing along the A55, driving from Mold to Anglesey, this afternoon so called in at the Gladstone. Has a reasonable ambience, Bragdy Conway and Black Sheep ales on draught so that's a plus.

Downside? They haven't got the Christmas menu out yet although they already have a couple of bookings. Left my e-mail with them and they said the Chef will get back to me next week latest.

They said no problem with our numbers, believe we could have their function room that they use for weddings rather than in with the main bar.

So, I'll see what they have to offer and relay it here for your consideration when it arrives.

Also detoured via Beamaris but only the Bulkeley Arms where I had a works Christmas do a few years ago. It was alrightish but nothing special...

(Still like the Royal Oak in ByC...)
