I know of at least 3 of the Thursday Night Crew who have never been and who would like to go (Margot, TwllMawr, NovaTurbo) and the lesser-spotted but much-missed Hymac has said that he will come along for a weekend trip. Ditto NewStuff.

Its an interesting mine if you have never been, with at least 2 features unique to slate mines in North Wales, and if you HAVE been before then it is just a nice sociable day out. :)

A spot of gentle SRT to get in and out but it is seriously easy-peasy stuff (don't tell anyone, but I have free-climbed out twice, its that easy...shush..;) ).

So if any one is up for it then add your thoughts and names to this thread over the next week or so then I will post it up with full details on the "Events & Meets" page. :thumbsup:

It's a fair walk up to the mine, but a fairly gentle one for the most part with a yomp up a waste tip for the last 5 minutes.
There is a very short SRT pitch to get in, down a shaft onto a ladder. You are on the rope for literally seconds. I would imagine it wouldn't be too much of a problem.
Hymac (:flowers: :flowers: :flowers: :flowers:) did mention bringing his 4x4 which would save the half hour walk 😉

Yup, know the outside. Just over the mountain from my old place on the Wrexham side of Mold and we stay there most weekends so only about 20 mins away :)

May need to duck out if its the 17th. Err hum :offtopic:... With South Africa likely to be top of Group B and Wales :thumbsup: possibly runners up of group A, there may be a very interesting bun fight to watch utilising an odd shaped ball.

Of course if Wales :thumbsup: end up on top of group A or out even 😢 , I'll be there... Though if it's due to the later outcome, very grumpy.
