Firstly can I start by saying....

"A million apologies...." :surrender:

It looks as though events will overtake me this week and I may not be able to attend, sorry.... between work, paperwork, impending nightmare of a house extension and the motorbike project, this week is looking fully booked....:(

It also looks as though the top-secret "Holyhead Project" 😉 may not be ready....laptop should be with you tomorrow, Blober. Text message later on

So the alternative I had in mind was to complete the bolting and life-line at Benallt and start the next phase of digging. At least one "Thursday Nighter" voted with both hands and both feet against Benallt....wading thigh-deep through "Sheep Adit" is a put-off for some folk!

So....a dilemma. And seeing that I'm >75% certain I won't be there, I shall put it to the vote....

Those in favour of Benallt say "Aye", otherwise alternative suggestions please. :flowers: :flowers:

It SHOULD be ready for Thursday but I don't know if I'll be able to test it elsewhere before hand! Shame its not light out anymore otherwise we could have tested it somewhere.

Please not Benallt 😢

Some slate would be good 😉

Ok how about we leave the Holyhead Project for this week, I'm in Trearddur Bay for the next 3 weeks at least, I can slip away from site one day for a couple hours one day....we'll find somewhere! Ssshhhhh.... ;)

Everyone except me hates Benallt! Understandable....

Ok something Slatey.....back to you!

I remember that there once was a time when you used to enjoy proper trips. What happened to the real SRL?!?

Aye from me.
Drop down the top shaft and investigate the possible side tunnel if the majority wants to avoid the sheep adit.

i canna join you lads for a while 😞 I remember I went to Benallt with a couple of you last summer, was a good trip, most of it spent talking about everything in order to avoid having to go into the wet adit 😛

"Wet adit" he says. And that's the comfortable bit!

Anyway, since nobody's suggested an alternative yet, we could opt for a nice wander up to Lliwedd copper mine. I've been reading about it in David Bick's book and it sounds promising although very little on the web suggests anyone's explored it properly in recent times.
What do you reckon Blober? Quick scamper up the Watkin path and we'll be halfway there. 😉

have you looked at any on Snowdon recently in the theme of copper mines? Although I spose that Brittania is a little far to walk in the dark, it's a good one though 🙂

You might get into the spirit of things a bit more if you're all cold, wet, muddy and miserable Pingu! ;)

Hehe, thought that would work. Lliwedd could be a bit of a trek for a Thursday night but I definitely think we should keep it in mind for a nice day next spring.

Oo now that's a nice idea too. Do we have any idea what to expect there?
