Another return trip to Benallt is called for I think? After trying out the new, improved, extended maypole (Thanks Pingu!) :thumbup: we managed to open up YET MORE new ground in this amazing little mine!

I have a feeling that there is a way to go yet, hopefully I haven't just "jinxed" it.....::)

SRT kit required for this one, as is a change of clothes due to the requirement to enter the mine by either wading through thigh-deep water or climbing over decomposing sheep.... yes seriously.....>:(
Also..... :flowers: if anyone has any gash bits of rope that could be left in there then we could possible rig up a mini through-trip? Couple of 10m-ish lengths would be fine :thumbup: I've permanently rigged up the first pitch that we will need tomorrow, so we can get a flying start!

We could probably liberate around 10m from the first rope we put in - the loose section across the top of the waterfall. I have a length of cable (from Pingu) that could replace it to leave something for folk to clip onto.

As a couple of folk couldn't make it, we decided it would be inconsiderate to climb all the way to the top last night. So we've saved the last few feet for next week. Only fair really.

Might as well add another extension onto the maypole while we're at it.;)

Oh yes. Sinker spotted that the drill hole marks show the shaft was clearly worked downwards, which means it must once have come from somewhere!:thumbsup:
