So, whats the plan!?

Are we going to return to Benallt or are we going to wait till the whole gang is back?

If yes, then suggestions? I've fancied Clogwyn Y Fuwch for awhile, maybe even pop over to Pen Y Fridd if there's time? :o

What say ye?

I'm happy either way, to be honest! I just hope Benallt won't happen on Sep 18th, as I'm in the Netherlands then and I'd be sad to miss out.

I'd certainly be up for a return to Benallt this week. We have some tidying to do that probably oughtn't be left too long.

Sounds like Benallt it is then.

Not convinced that final maypole climb will yield anything but it's worth a try!

I think I'll be abbing out this time - once out of that foul adit is enough!

Want to get some photos in the timbered shaft. That's my excuse anyway. And I'm sticking to it 🙂

I'll be there. Do we have enough rope?

Can't we go in the bottom way? I'm not sure I like the sound of this sheep

Good thinking, we will need a little more rope when we move that maypole.

(The sheep were pretty quiet when we saw them.)

Very quiet indeed! Wouldn't have been much eating on them either. All skin and bones. Without much of the skin.

This isn't about tomorrow but Sat 4th Oct...

Some of my work colleagues have asked me if they can see Cwmorthin. I'm reasonably OK to take them but would one of you ever so nice Thursday Nighters who lives reasonably close to Cwm and knows it better than me like to come along as an extra guide? I've never done the 'new' through trip route avoiding 8E but would like to show them most of the usual show items ending with winder to G then part way up the BVI and then up the final ladderway back to Fl 1. Taking photos along the way of course...

Thanks in advance

Yes I should think so, but please remind me closer to the time.

Another spiffing night in Benallt! Unfortunately, the most valiant of attempts didn't suffice for getting up to the next level. The maypole only reached up to an entertaining amount of loose rubble. We'll have to come back again!

Loose rubble plus a tantalising view towards what could be the bottom of another shaft or stope. All that rubble certainly came from somewhere. We're thinking perhaps there had been an ore chute, which could account for all the collapsed timber on the floor.
Unfortunately it wouldn't have been possible to get back onto the top of the maypole safely so we need to clear some more rubble and put in a couple of bolts.
