A re-visit to Drws y Coed this week, to suss out a few adits and levels that we have spotted but never had time to explore properly....

Lets meet up here:

at around 1815?

The shaft / open stope that we explored last time is here:

so anyone who didn't make it last time can play catch up and there are at least three adits within 50m of the shaft.

We can then work our way East towards the main workings. While we are there, I think I'll investigate the levels on the other side of the valley, around here:

Anyone know anything about that side of the valley?

Bring SRT kit for the shaft if you fancy it and anything else we might find. I'll bring the 50m rope which should suffice.

Is this a different shaft from the one we did 7 or 8 months back Phil? Leading to different workings than we explored that night?

Hi stranger 😉. Yes it is. Quite interesting too. Quite a few other adits and levels there too. Just wanted to see what there was left that I hadn't seen myself and tick it off the list. :thumbup:
We have a great trip planned nest week too.....watch this space....;).

The following week, the 14th, Pingu will be joining us "For one night only" so we will sort out a juicy trip for that night too.

On the 15th, I go away on holiday for 3 weeks (yay! ;D) so my next Thursday night will then be the 11th of September,

which also happens to be :happybday: to me,

so we'll just go to the pub that night :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

While I'm away, I shall leave you in the capable hands of Mr Blober, deputy Social Secretary. I haven't asked him yet but he won't mind. :thumbsup:

I have been down Drws y Coed a few times but not down the main shaft. Shame this is on a Thursday night as its a bit too far from me but if it was a weekend I can easily make it.

Could be a while before I could manage a free weekend to get there, but I could probably meet up and quickly point you in the right direction if it helped?

Hi David

Yes we found enough to justify a return trip in two weeks time with a couple of shovels, the drill, bolting kit, ropes, a may pole and a Pingu! Fancy it??!

I'll post it up.

Next week is all sorted too, details to follow when I get five minutes to post it up. :thumbup:

Oh so, next week we'll be having Ursula from the online caving shop starless river joining us, so if anyone would like to buy/try on any kit (harness, suits etc) please leave a message here or PM me so I can email her back with what people are after, just don't go mad it wont be the full shop! :thumbsup:

Gutted I couldn't come! Turned my ankle and have spent the last day or so with it up in the air! Touchwood it'll be better by next week!

No worries, we'll be back there in 2 weeks for a cold, wet adventure! :devil::devil::devil:
