The "Curse of Drws y Coed" strikes again.....

Seriously though, a great night out......
@Rostram: I told you that we did actually get underground despite how it looked the last couple of weeks.

I feel that there is a lot more to see here, and also on the other side of the valley, so I propose a return trip to finish it off in two weeks time, after the NAMHO madness has passed?
All those in favour, say "Aye"?

Fast forward: I'm free Thursday evening next week but maybe for just a quick trip, what with the NAMHO conference being the weekend etc. Anyone fancy a quick dart in and out somewhere?

Madness indeed. I'm looking forward to having a free evening and being able to join you again after the conference.

Hope you guys got home alright and remembered to pick up the rope before driving off.

Rostram and I had a quick look back in the adit, using the rope as a safety line to cross that dodgy timber floor to reach the top of the ladder. Guess what - it's the one we were looking up from below! So a return with a drill could see it turned into a through-trip. And, if we're thinking of returning with wetsuits to see what's beyond that flooded stope, this will be the quickest way in (and out). So fancy having a look next week?

Incidentally, we noticed that someone has installed a couple of bolts (just the female threads present), one above the other, somewhat short of the top of the ladder. We couldn't work out why, as they looked too far from the edge for abbing down but oddly positioned for a handline across the false floor.

I did a rough survey of one of the lower levels several years ago. It struck me that it might be possible to proceed at water level to east of 'the bridge' if suitably equipped.

You were almost right. About 3m above water level is a passage leading onwards, to the bottom of the shaft seen further up the hillside.
The next question, is whether you can get anywhere by swimming through the water to the west.
