A water flow meter was installed in the level some time ago. Environment Agency have now decided that the device that was used was not accurate and that the data was unreliable.

So.... a new device is to be installed. It will include a notched weir, which will be designed to minimise the impact on people venturing into the mine.

EA have asked whether this will be acceptable to the "mining exploration community". On your behalf, as NAMHO Secretary, I have agreed that this will be acceptable.

The good news is that we have been consulted.....

(it is likely that the other major levels at Nenthead will have similar weirs installed.)
