Hi chaps.

Can't make it out on the 19th I'm afraid as it is Mrs Sinker's birthday 😮 She doesn't like a fuss but she does at least like me to be there so I shall do the decent thing and stay in.
"Someone" ( ) suggested a Forward Planning Meeting which usually involves going for a curry and a pint and scribbling a few mine-related notes about future trips. It's probably a good time to do this as the nights are drawing in slowly and the Autumn / Winter trips need to be planned a little more carefully due to cold, dark, wet approach walks :smartass: Bring me a list and I'll draw up a programme of trips 😉
To this end I'll hand it over to you all to sort out, and if that's the plan then "Spice Of Llanberis" is the traditional venue!

Perhaps we should also start discussions regarding any one-off trips or events.....Cwmorthin Lamplight Trip??? :flowers:

Over to you

Yes, a curry and planning meeting sounds good. We could always ask the proprietor of the "Spice of Llanberis" if we could have our meal in his cellar so it feels more like the usual underground trip   . I have a list of suggestions printed off, so you can read it and then use it as a serviette . :happybday: to Mrs. Sinker.

His cellar is usually underwater this time of year

So who's free this week?

Are you liking Sinker's plan or would you prefer to be burning calories instead of storing them for the coming season?

The weather is supposed to be nasty on Thursday evening, so a curry and planning evening sounds fine to me  . What time at the Spice of Llanberis then?

I was going to visit Llanberis and other places this week but weather is not for camping really 😛

Unfortunately me "spare room" isn't at the moment otherwise you would be free to stay here.....
After I move into "Sinker Palace" in the new year the entire West Wing will be at your disposal

Thanks for the kind offer, wow a palace sounds good! 😛 I'm getting some SRT done, or rather buying the stuff I need at present so maybe when I'm next down 🙂 Also that trip to a certain Corris slate mine, which few could make it to this year, would be good to rearrange that but it being not the easiest of trips I;m thinking it would be good for I or anyone interested to check the state of the place if anything needs rigging etc first 😛

Any chance we could make it 6.30 or 7?

Are there only 3 of us? If only 3 could go for a quick u/g yomp instead? But don't mind either way.

I need to pop over to Llanberis anyway but would be happy to head onwards to somewhere u/g.
I'll put my basic gear in the car (no SRT) so we can decide tomorrow if necessary.

I'm watching this thread. I should be able to get out for a curry if it's at 18:30 or later, but I don't think I'd have time to change and sort out u/g gear after I got home from work. Don't let me put you off though if you'd rather disappear into a hole in the ground.

I'm getting the impression that there's not a huge appetite for curry (correct me if I'm wrong), and the forecast looks better for this evening. So how's this for an idea...
Have a wander up to Talysarn (Drws y Coed) and a look at the adits mentioned by Dave7 then stop off for a half at the Cwellyn Arms, Rhyd Ddu?
I haven't got any SRT kit with me today so feel free to point out that Drws y Coed is pointless without.

I wont make it tonight, my van needs work for its MOT, and I'm not trying to repair it in this weather. It's wetter than an otters pocket here!!  I don't know when you are now thinking of a planning meeting, but I may be working away in October, so here are some suggestions: Parc, further investigations of all accessible areas, some digs/clearing, links to Cyffty etc. Gwynfynedd, and other gold mines in the Dolgellau area. Moelwyn, clear out/investigate bottom adit and adit/level below summit of Moelwyn Bach. Bwlch y Plwm/Pingu's secret mine, investigate along and above water filled adit, (Willys boating adit  ). Hafod Uchaf, between Rhyd and Croesor. Glyn Rhonwy, before it becomes a hydro scheme, Llan Ffestiniog cake mine   . Further trips to Fron Boeth, Rhiwbach, Fotty, Diffwys, Cwrt y Bugail. Rhosydd, East Twll area. Mines in the Llanberis and Lleyn Peninsula areas. SRT and rescue training evening/day. An evening of tuition on the use of, grinders, gas axes, camouflage, hydraulic rams, high explosives and SAS covert opperations     . See you next week

 By the number of emails and texts I have just had it appears my suggestions have rattled a few cages! SORRY. They are just places I would like to visit given the opportunity and the permission. I still think the Llan Ffestiniog cake mine and the SAS covert operation are "must do's"
