Location....following a comment on another thread, it would seem that the Indian in Blaenau is not up to much these days, so any other suggestions would be welcome :flowers:
I'll be travelling straight from site at Minera so it makes no difference to me where we go, whatever the majority wants....so names and votes please and thinking caps on :flowers: and we'll decide tomorrow and post it up :thumbsup: over to you...

I can recommend the Indian at Dinas*, good food and reasonably priced.

* The Dinas about 3 miles south of Caernarfon.

I'm not even in Wales, so can't suggest anything but I'm curious if there's anything in the Cwt-y-Bugail area you haven't explored, seem to be a large number of slate quarries registered on aditnow for that area but few have any photos/info, maybe they're just small open workings though.

As I was saying last week my wife is away this week and has a Xmas do next week so I have to be here with the kids and won't be able to make these 2.

As far as ideas / requests go, I have so many mines still to visit the list would be endless. However, keeping it short(ish) :

Around Blaenau

the place where they stored the paintings during the war (Manod?),
Conglog,
Nyth y Gigfran,
Croesor and Rhosydd (the through trip would be a bit much for an evening but an explore of both mines separately would be good),
More off the beaten track parts of Cwmorthin,

Elswhere

Aberllyn,
Parc,
Aberllefenni,
Minllyn,
Great Orme

I came across mention that Drws y Coed was quite extensive and not well explored.

Having put such a long list though, I'm happy to go with the flow and tag along with people that have better knowledge of where is worthwhile. A mix of slate and metal mines might be good, and maybe places with either artifacts to see or new ground to explore.

Wow. I'm not sure whether to worry that this is such a long post or, given that this is my whole tomorrow evenings worth of thinking worry that this is all there is. :lol:

Is this a suggestion for a mine or a restaurant? :confused: Trudging half way up Snowdon on a winter night doesn't really appeal to me.

The curry house in Llanwrst (Clanroost?!?) does a decent vindaloo. Staff are a bit miserable like...

Llanberis Indian was good. gets my vote for eating, after last weeks rocks and loose anchor bolt I don't want any more risks i.e. an eatery that's gone down hill.

Llion are you sure that you haven't been there? I must be imagining things! We've been a few times when we had a run of a few weeks exploring Glynrhonwy etc..... anyway if you haven't been then it's worth the trip....it's very good :thumbup:

Some of those puddles are quite big - the A55 is now closed in both directions between Junctions 10 and 11. (Llandygai and Talybont).
