Hi...'scuse my ignorance but is that the one with the ore storeroom a few yards in, on the right? It'll be more than 30yrs since I was in there but I'm sure it was Prince (something).

It has been under an Exclusive Option (new term for an Exploration License) for a while. Surprised it wasn't locked before now.

After a quick look at the photo, I guess the Crown Mineral Agent's contractor did that. He lives in the local village.

this gate has been erected for Health and Safety reasons. Its removal or damage is an offence and perpetrators will be prosecuted accordingly.you can get in at the momment but not for long.

I wonder what the air's like in the far reaches of the mine these days? A lot of organic matter got swept in during the big flood in 2001, down the stopes that go to surface. Haven't been in for many years, but back then the far drift seemed rather "airless".

Ah, ok. One for mine-explorers to be aware of, then. Similar issues occurred at Cwmeheidol No.9 after Simon Hughes and I dewatered it - low O2 levels. We painted a warning of bad air on the wooden gate to let people know.
