Hi folks,
Following on from Simon's thread about organising trips for this year, is there any interest about trying to set up an alternative thursday night group for the northeast wales/wrexham/chester area? I know there's quite a few of us in this area and a few people have expressed an interest in evening meetings.
We could try having a trip once a month at first and see how it goes if there's any interest?

I'm on an Early shift this Thursday, and off next Thursday if you have a space in your car. I'll point a few others at this thread too.

I do work a lot of Late shifts though, finishing at 7:30, but if it's after that, I would almost certainly be up for it. Where were you thinking of?

Better charge my Batteries then, just in case.

oh dear- i see i've landed myself in it now! 😉

I actually can't make either this week, or next thursday due to work commitments (i hadn't expected people to be that keen!) 😮 however, i don't have to be there if someone else wants to organise the first trip out? :flowers: Has anyone got any suggestions for where to go to?

I might be interested as well

There is a few mines around that region i would personally like to see such as Minera Lead Mine, Bell grave Lead Mine or maybe even Penarth Slate Mine if any trips are organised 🙂

I am about as far from Wrexham as I am from Deryshire and I go there for evening trips so yes, I too would be interested.
I have walked around there a bit and looked down a couple of places for business but I have never done any proper exploration there.

i would be up for this ,most weeks depends on finish time as i get up at 4:30 am for work. 😞

If someone wants to go play out somewhere next Thursday, and can give me a lift (I live on the outskirts of Wrexham itself), I'll happily show people around Cambrian, Hendre or Penarth. I know all 3 very well, being local-ish regular haunts for me. I suspect that most people will have done these, but if you want to, I'm up for it. Suggestions for elsewhere welcome too, if I've not been, I probably want to go.

There will not be any SRT Involved if I'm leading or organising a trip. I can do it, but I'm not sure I am good enough to be responsible for others just yet. As for places, is there anywhere that you want to go to in particular? I'm happy with anywhere really.

Seeing as the only trips I have ever done in the area is the water board shaft at Minera and the Mustard gas caverns near Mold, anywhere would be fine.
Travelling from Stoke so preferably not too far the Welsh side of Wrexham.

its just a sugestion- but since you commented on knowing Cambrian so well Newstuff- why don't you go there if Staffordshire China hasn't seen it? You can have a look at the state of the entrances at the same time!
