I went for a walk up to Cwm Ciprwth copper mine today I must say the water wheel is a splendid sight, as I didn’t have the Wright sort of footwear I could not enter any of the adits . I was wondering if anyone could tell me if there is much to see underground at Cwm Ciprwth and Gilfach.

The level above the wheel at Cwm Ciprwth has crotch-deep water in it. A short distance in it forks. Right branch finsishes a short distance after. Left branch crosses a flooded winze which occupies most of the passage and I've not crossed it, but according to Mr Fellows it doesn't go much further.

Gilfach has three levels and according to information on the web there's an SRT trip to be had between the middle level and the bottom level.

Not really, but if you do enter the adit there is an underwater winze, the water clouds and you cannot see on the way out. You have to remember where it was!

Its not work getting changed and lugging you kit up the hill. There is more in copper mine below, and its shallow water.
