Well done, sadly no prize... no its not drug related but its the best of the comics No 5... Scroll down the page to the cartoons http://www.russandem.co.uk/quirk/

But I am told by an old IT guy from the US that a Quirkafleeg was in actual fact a way of short circuiting a database function that didn't work in early days of computers!!!

Just following up this recent discussion about Dinorwic, and having looked downloaded all of Graham's plan (thank you by the way) I realised there'd been an earlier discussion on a similar subject, and the original poster RosieG had created a Google map plan here: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msa=0&msid=109915291015428156362.000454917b26c70160baa

Hi there,

I have been looking around the interweb for a decent map of Dinorwig Quarry but I couldn't find one. So I have started a google map one that is at:

I have this grand plan that all of you who know Dinorwig can collaborate on this map and annotate/name all of the main features so that a) I know where is being talked about and b) so that there is one standardised mao with all the names etc on so people are't confused about exactly what incline etc is being talked about. Points of interest eg Australia mill could also be marked which would be easier than giving directions. What I have done so far is very rough and is best viewed in "Satellite".

If you know Dinorwig have a look and see what you think - at the moment only I can edit it but I would love to have some of you experts to collaborate and fill in all the blanks...

Cheers for reading this long post and let me know what you think,

Rosie

Would be interesting for someone to combine the info together and create a comprehensive map - I can see colour overlays proving useful! There area lot of changes between the three editions of the 25" map, and with the later National Grid Version, which is sadly not complete.

The map is the territory - especially in chain scale.
