I'm sure someone will find a good home for him/her. Bloody prats who treat animals like that.

Regarding the link thingee just click on the the url sign above your post at the beginning of your copy/paste address and again at the end. If you are using Firefox you will have to insert it manually. Needs the full address as you posted.

When officers opened the bag and she ran out I couldn’t believe it, it was a miracle. Our vet, who has given her the all clear, can’t believe it either.

Where was it then ? Fish/Dwarf which would be a more Meliden that Dyserth, or possibly SJ 07047 79910 which I enquired about in a previous post. With regard to NWCRO, during my time associated with it there was always the worry that NW Police would not have the procedures to call us out. In one of the two 'shouts' I was involved in, it was Harold Morris rather than the police who instigated the NWCRO (succesfull as it was) callout !

We had one down here in Cornwall a moth or so ago that fell 180 feet down a narrow shaft and survived with only a hairline fracture to a pastern.
We went back and dropped the shaft soon after to check out exploring possibilities and looking at the route the dog must have fallen, it really is beyond belief to have survived the fall let alone the landing, and then to have been down there for 5 days before being found....!
They must be made of rubber or have guardian angels. Nothing short of miraculous.

There are quite a few shafts and holes all over that can be a danger to animals and people.
There are two shafts in particilar that I think are dangerous and could do with a fence around them. These are the two shafts that go down from approx level 2 to the floor 4 adit dam at Rhosydd slate mine. One of them funnels down from quite a distance. And once you would start to slip there is no way of stopping.
About 20 years ago we let down a video camera down the square top shaft and found there were quite a few dead sheep at the bottom.
These shafts are near to the path taken to walk to the summit of the Moelwyn.
Another dangerous place is on the surface on top of Cwmorthin mine near the border of Oakeley and Cwmorthin where there are many large deep cracks on the surface after the 'big fall' about 1890.

Follow up article about the dog abandoned in the Dorothea.

My 2p is this. I am by no means a dog lover. But find cruelty / lazy behaviour causing unneccesary suffering to any animal (in in some cases humans) repulsive.

Contrary to my previous post, I did follow this up the same day but the dog had already been reserved, so hopefully will have gone to his new home by now.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
