Hi

Very quick question, does anyone have the contact details for the landowner(s) you would have to contact to officially drive up to the mine and park at the top? I seem to recall there was some excitement about an SSI and people parking up there. If anyone could PM me the current situation and who to contact that would be much appreciated

Ta! 🙂

When I walked down the track there were heavy cattle feeders across it and not enough room to get a landrover past without moving them. I expect they were there partly to stop unauthorised use, partly convenient to top them up. That was a while ago so they may have been moved. Sorry I don't have the farmers' contact details but may be able to get them, don't hold your breath.
Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it.

Cheers Owain!

My understanding would be that access to the mine is tolerated rather than specifically permitted, so I suspect that there may not be a willing to grant vehicular access to the mine if it's for the purpose of underground exploring?

when i was up there checking fron boeth tunnel i spoke to a chap on a quad up by croesor gate , he said that they do not want anybody going up in vehicles , would not say why , had a bit of an attitude so left him to it.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
