Looks good for me!

I lost my last set of photos of Pant Mawr... :bored:

It's a surprisingly big mine for somewhere that's not very much explored ;)

EDIT: hmmm.... looks like the Newcastle match has been switched to the Sunday: looks like Setanta TV might rob me of a day out :curse:

its only Newcastle Vanoord we know whats going to happen in the end and they'll have a whole new league to play in next season

In which case I won't have to watch Newcastle next season unless we draw them in the cup... 😉

Meanwhile, back on topic ...

Thanks to Mark for providing the impetus and leadership for an excellent day out on and under the hills. The weather was just right, the company was outstanding and the slate caverns, whilst not measureless to man, were sufficiently extensive to be be of interest and had a smattering of minor artefacts.

I trust the rest of the party got back safely. Pam and I left them when they were setting off from the Fron Boeth boiler to go down to have a look at the Fron Boeth tunnel with talk of a walk back via Croesor and Rhosydd! Our decision to head back was probably correct as Pam was very tired and slept most of the way home in the Land Rover.l

In all, a grand day out.

Yes indeed a very good day out - a bit of mine exploring (although i didnt venture in to the ones which involved geting wet above the "critical point"!!) and then a nice hike over to Croesor and Rhosydd! Nice weather and good company - all good!

Did you manage to get to the chambering on any higher than the lowest floor of Fron Boeth?

Yes we found chambering on some different levels and a small manway through to the top of one of the lower chambers. Pitty we could not get through the tunnel to croesor.

Sounds like you had a good one. I'm annoyed I missed it, look forward to seeing more of Fron Boeth some time soon.
my orders are to sit here and watch the world go by

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
