The new owner was quite shocked when I told him that he had inadvertently blocked the adit access to the drainage tunnel! His attention had not been brought to it and he thought that there was nothing in any of the paperwork that indicated its presence
Seems he has done a bit of exploring himself so he is in sympathy. I'm not sure how this can be acceptably remedied.
When work is more advanced and he has more time, I'll go over to see him with some of my "paperwork" as he is genuinely interested.

I suppose once this has been overlooked and since become an integral part of the renovations it will be difficult to reverse.

The adit is some distance from the building. It has been blocked by soil and stone from some of the "hardscape" works. I'm sure it can be easily reversed. However, questions of access and liability need be addressed; it's right next to a well used public footpath. Penrhyn/Rigcycle may have an opinion! It's their only drain! I'm very suprised that this wasn't in "the property paperwork" and that they've not, as yet, made any comment.
It used to be a popular entrance; the University Caving Club were regular users, so I'm told.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
