Some truely expert standard photos here Gwyn, I love the comparison between the Summer Blue Sky and the Purple Slate.

By the way, in this pic, why does the roof of the drainage tunnel suddenly become very high?

I was just looking at them and I agree. I rather like this one.

The past is a foreign country: they do things differently there.

The reason why the roof of the drainage tunnel suddenly becomes much higher is known and details will be published in the September issue of the Penrhyn Railway Society's journal, Y Llechen/The Slate.

Thank you!
I was doing some "botanising" on the E side of the old tips, above Penis'ar Nant. It was too windy for plant photography so I took a few landscapes!
The pictures are as from camera. Saturation is got with a circular polarising filter.
It was a good day! I was joined by a pair of falcons for ten minutes or so.. and I found a really cracking plant specimen!

Am I right in thinking this higher level of tunnel is located under the Felin Fawr/Coedyparc complex? In which case, is it connected with the two water wheels that are located there?

Better to regret something you have done - than to regret something you have not done.
