Anglesey Mining has announced it could generate £23m from a new mining development at its Parys Mountain mine near Amlwch.

A study has shown that its White Rock metal ore can make a significant positive cash return and will pave the way for the subsequent development of the Engine Zone at Parys Mountain.

The study found that there is sufficient 'mineable resource' to sustain initial production from White Roch for in excess of five years at a rate of 500 tonnes per day.

That would mean a total operating cash flow of approximately £23m could be generated before return of capital.

Bill Hooley, executive director of Anglesey Mining said, 'We are very pleased that the well-respected international consultant Micon concurs with our views on the viability of White Roc, and with its role as a stepping stone to the development of the entire resource base at Parys Mountain. White Rock is not regarded as a stand-along project but the precursor to larger scale mining. It will form the first part of a phased approach to the development of these further resources that should ensure a continuity of production at Parys Mountain for many years to come.'

He added 'it remains the company's intention to commence underground mining at White Rock during 2007 with the initial production of concentrates from a newly constructed mill beginning during 2008.'

Its been getting pretty cold on Anglesey, but I don't think its cold enough to freeze hell over :lol:

Hmmm. Afraid it was a scam back in 1988 and has been ever since. The only financially viable means of extraction would be a drift straight in to the mountain from the Rhosybol direction and the planners kicked that out years ago. I have the sign off the headframe in my garage. I may go back and remove the headframe completely.....it would look grand in my garden ??

I have a few shares in Anglesey Mining which I bought when they started to dabble in iron mining in Labrador :-[

That £100 investment is worth so little that it is not even worth selling (taking account of the fees) so on one hand I live in hope that the latest drilling programme will discover the Copper equivalent of the Yukon ......... but on the other hand I confidently anticipate my investment to be valued in pennies :oops:

The Copper is there alright in abundance, along with plenty of other goodies, it's just a question of economically viable extraction and processing. You're a millionaire....you've just got to get it out!
