A bit late since it's half way through, but on BBC4 at the moment is Tales from the National Parks, telling the story of (the late) Mark Wier's attempt to build a zip wire at Honister.

I've got a copy of that saved, it's a very interesting show.

Particularly like the bit where he was on the long ladder poking the roof of the slate chamber with a big stick.

Is it on iPlayer anywhere do you know? I only caught the last half hour.

I liked the bit where the woman from natural england claimed whatever it was they were standing exactly there since the last iceage... to be told she was standing on a slate incline that at most 250 years old...
