very sorry ๐Ÿ˜ž ,
had a great day with the chaps from the Red Rose Steam Society,who run the museum and look after all the great loco`s and the 3,300 hp twin tandem compound steam winding engine .

to round my day off they even ran the engine for me ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ..and the pride on the faces said it all ..WOW. i did take a short video of it too . thanks guys you made my day :flowers:

Spent many a Sunday afternoon 20 years ago or so needle hammering and angle grinding the surface of those cylinders and priming them. Nice to know the work has gone on and the engine is still there to see.

Nice to see the display of the detaching hook etc as well - we hadn't things like that way back then.

Moocher - which engine did they run, I didn't know they could turn over the big 'un yet ?

BTW I have more drawings of the engine, pit and it's various bits and pieces if anyone's interested.

yes the video i took was indeed of the big un, ran at only 8rpm as it is ran on air not steam .
