By Chiverton Adit do you mean the one in Trevean Cove? Might have drained Chiverton, Powderhouse, Meldrums (Cox's?) and Footway shafts, the cliff fell in some years ago, the adit still drains thru the rubble which is gradually washing away, might expose the adit sometime. Woulda thought Speedwell drains to adit below Coastguard Cottages, perhaps part of Georgia as well. Wheal Speed still runs very fast, big ochre stain, E end of Kennegy Cliff, flow might be supplemented by stream behind, accesible low tide, will get a pic sometime. Which leaves at least 2 adits on Stackhouse Cove, I assumed they drained Florence altho there are no intermediate shafts visible. Agreed that Fishers Lode heads towards Wheal Speed but it's a long way. I have the 1875 plans of the later workings of Florence N of the A394 which shows the adit at 40 FM level following Fishers Lode but then it breaks S into old workings (of Wheal Florence) "not entered by present company, Adit on old plan omitted" Barton says "..drains to the sea" but not where. Of course I have no experience below ground. The "adits" on Stackhouse Cove do not have the appearance of prospecting like the workings on Kennegy Beach. Perhaps I'm a bit misled by my 1/2500 1878 OS map which doesn't go beyond Speedwell in the east.
