Does anyone know who has installed the fixed ropes in Proud's Sump and for what purpose?

The reason I ask is that the first pitch is part of a route now approved for outdoor activity groups from Smallcleugh to Rampgill and the existing rope would need to be removed for route to be suitably rigged.

I am assuming it is a fixed rope because it has been in-situ for a while now and some of the hardware/rigging is not in the best of condition.

Quite what the PM is doing down Prouds Sump I can't imagine. Perhaps he's discovered digging is a good way of relieving the stress of managing the financial crisis. Or given that Brown sold most of the countries Gold reserves at a knockdown price perhaps he thinks the rapidly increasing price of Lead is the way out of the problem.

cinsidering some of the things he seems to havetime to involve himself in I'd think it's probably the best place for him...

Please do not tamper with the stainless bolts on the prouds sump route, or the bolt positions in the horse level as these are required for rigging and rescue practice
