I have been very interested in Consols and United (Gwennap) for many years.

It's one of those places where there seems to be very little recorded.

So far I've seen:-

1. Ordish's pictures of Eldon's, Garlands, Stamps, Little and the big one whose name escapes me, but is now demolished.

2. Pictures of Davey's engine (consols) in the 80's

3. Some 60's views of Eldon's with Stamps/Little engines in the background (pre forestry) which reside in the CSL.

I'd love to see some pictures of the tip before it was a tip and maybe some 1880 onwards....

There must be some pictures residing somewhere which I haven't seen. It was so important and big, it must have been recorded.

If you do have a source, I'd be most interested in seeing them.

Cheers, Stu

There is a chap called Paddy Bradley in Redruth and Terry Dundon, Eric Rabjohns, All have photo collections.

If you look on the gwennap parish website and get to the newsletter page you will find a Rabjohns pic of united downs before it was a tip.

Actually most of the newsletters have at least one historic photo of the area.

Cheers Wal.

I knew there would be some around. I think Eric is in Carharrack.
