As i have mentioned on here before i have a mine shaft on my land.
I have a photograph of it obtained from the Old Cornwall Society that labels it as Annies Shaft. Due to its location ive always assumed it belonged to Par consols or at a push west Fowey consols.
However after visiting Wheal Martin clay museums mining exhibiton today it has left me confused.
There is a cross section of Charlestown consols shafts that includes annies shaft, the map isnt great but it definately shows this. I would have thought i was too far inland and to the east of Charlestown for this to be possible.
Just to add even more confusion, the write up on Wheal Eliza says how far under Tregrehan estate there workings passed which also fringes on the boundary of where we are located.
Can anyone shed any light on it?
