There were various papers published as a result of investigations by CSM, but I havn't seen or read any of them.
I guess it was one of those 'Things that I must do' that I havn't got around to doing yet. 😞

Clogwyn Coch Mine on Snowdon is perhaps the most "intersting" location in UK that comes to my mind; from the Llanberis path workings can be seen up a very steep set of cliff cum vertical scree. Only obvious access to higher workings would be to ab off the railway tracks (hope no train comes), or at this time of year from the bottom with ice gear. In prolonged cold weather big stopes become choked with spectacular ice formations.

To go full circle there is a lengthy and interesting article by Peter Joseph in this years Trevithick Society Journal, "A new look at the Wherry Mine, Penzance". Incidentally he refers to the Long Rock Mine as Wheal Mexico.
The past is a foreign country: they do things differently there.

Interesting that the (excellent) Public House opposite The Long Rock site is called the 'Mexico'. More than coincidence me thinks.

poke around long enough and you'll find something..

Just dug out this picture as an addition to my thread mentioning ochre slicks from Wheal Devonshire.
I think the pic says it all.

Try that in the Tamar and watch what happens....!!!

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
