This map is an extract from a CD-ROM published by MappaKernwick called "The Tamar Valley Mining District in 1848" I'm sure the poster did not intend to intentionally breach my copyright on the image and I am glad to see some of Mr Symons map made use of. The Disk includes maps of the whole area from Kit Hill to Devon Great Consols and also includes information about each mine and photographs. So if you would like your own copy please drop me an email and I can send one on. And a request please, if any one else would like to republish an image from the CD, or my other Cd ( the Caradon area) could they drop me a line first..thanks John Manley.

Hi John. Glad you're back home - some major exploring to be done starting with the one we were talking about earlier. Waiting for time and meeting place to see you know where. Will email you when details arrive.

I must admit that the CD is very good, as you've put a lot of time and effort into that project. Keep up the good work.
Regards Tin Miner

Thanks, its no problem,
Its just that I have a responsibility back to the original document owners who have kindly alowed by free access to the maps. As you know the Cds are sold on a break even basis with the money being used to get the next map converted. If you want to use some of the other maps to support your surveys that you post feel free to do, just drop me a line first before you post them. After all, its nice to see the Symons's work being of use to people again.

Might it be an idea to mention the source (ie the CDs) on the individual photo pages. I believe that is what would normally be expected.

At the request of the copyright holder, mappakernwick, these two images have been re-credited:

My thanks to mappakernwick for allowing these images to continue to be present on this site.

I haven't got the link for the site where the CD itself can be purchased, but perhaps if anybody else has, or John Manley himself could post the link here.
my orders are to sit here and watch the world go by

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
