Hi spaty_lea. Welcome nice to see you on this forum. I know you have lots of wonderful pics, including some fantastic vintage stuff.

A few of us on here might be concerned if you post your Burtree Pasture Pics on full public view, though. Might be wise to limit them to registered users only ?
In the interest of preserving this wonderful mine ?? 🙂

How exactly do you enter this fantastic mine?

Also, I have heard there is a cage and winder inside Rotherhope Fell mine just outside Alston - how do you access this too?

Rotherhope Fell is open but you cant get in.
The adit is dammed and used as a water supply by the fella who lives in the now rebuilt mine managers house right by the adit.
He doesn't welcome visitors much. The plus side is that he is a mining man and it will be pretty safe in his custody

The level is collapsed but the photo album description says that the mine can be accessed by a shaft used as a second exit - is this an SRT job and where is the shaft in relation to the horse level?

The shaft mentioned in the mine description is near the landowners house and is gated & locked. If permission were given to descend, then yes, it would entail SRT.

He is a bit hostile to strangers and is prone to taking pot shots after somebody attempted to steal his motorbikes......
